March 15, 2021 – Family Counseling Services, a nonprofit mental health resource and counseling center serving the Northern Illinois area since 1877, has announced the selection of Lynn Momberger, as its new executive director.

“We are very pleased to announce this appointment,” reported Dawn Reints, FCS Board President. “Lynn brings leadership and professional nonprofit development experience to FCS’ agency services.  She has worked as Director of Development at two local nonprofits, and has a breadth of experience to share with our clients.”

Mombergers’s resume includes experience in both manufacturing and service sectors, in both for profit and nonprofit.  Most recently Lynn was Director of Development with Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois.  Before Girl Scouts, Lynn was Director of Development at Discovery Center Museum for five years.  Prior to her career in fundraising Lynn spent 15 years in executive search and recruiting for the Furst Group in Rockford where she recruited several professionals for the not-for profit sector.

“I look forward to serving as the Executive Director as FCS continues to serve the area’s mental health service needs,” states Momberger.  “FCS has a long history of providing quality, affordable mental health counseling to the community, with an emphasis on serving those without means.  I’m dedicated to this mission because it provides real impact on the overall health of our community.”
