About FCS

Our mission is to foster stronger communities by providing individuals with accessible, professional counseling and mental health care that empowers them to thrive.

Family Counseling Services was founded in 1877 by a group of citizens concerned with the well-being of individuals and families in our community. Today, FCS continues to provide psychotherapy and family life education to individuals and families in Winnebago and Boone counties and surrounding area.

Meet Our Clinical Staff

The FCS staff is made up of professionals with education and credentials in psychology, social work, and related disciplines, with most having professional licensure in these fields as well. FCS staff have a wide range of specialties, including play therapy for children and art therapy for children and adults. FCS therapists regularly complete continuing education courses on a variety of conditions and therapies.

Everyone on staff is equipped to help you learn to cope with the challenges that can make life difficult. We start with an intake session to go over the necessary paperwork and to learn a little about you. This will also help orient you to our organization and to place you with the therapist best able to help you with your specific needs. Our goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

Therapists schedules fill quickly. We encourage you to call 815-962-5585 now to schedule your initial intake session to get started.
